Steady Hand Painting, an Atlanta painting company, was contracted for 8 episodes of the new spinoff of the hit HGTV show “Curb Appeal.” The new show is called “Curb Appeal: the block.”
The concept for the new show is expanded to include more than one home on the same block and by improving the curb appeal on the block, they hope to raise home values and bring neighbors closer together in the process.
Michael Haggerty, the company founder, served as one of the home experts featured in the show’s first season.
"There are a lot of things going on at these jobsites," said Mike Haggerty, owner of Steady Hand. "You have to do your every day job with two camera men, several sound guys; not to mention the landscaping, mud, logs, and wet cement...
Still, it's very exciting to work on these projects because you get almost instant visual gratification. That just does not happen very often in our regular jobs."
The first season began airing New Year's Day, 2010 and continues in its regular time slot Saturdays at 9:30 pm ET/PT.
“’Curb Appeal: The Block’ on HGTV, shot here in Atlanta, did respectably in its regular time slot this past Saturday night with 1.5 million viewers. Earlier in the day it brought in 1.2 million. The actual debut on New Year’s Day in the afternoon broached 1 million.” –Atlanta Journal Constitution.
Preparations are currently underway for a second season. All of the homes for the second season have already been chosen.
